GPhC exam results and feedback
When results arrive, how you are told, what the result shows, what happens if you fail, and what the Board of Assessors says trainees get wrong.
Updated 1 October 2026
- June 2026 sitting
- Tue 16 June, results Tue 21 July 2026
- November 2026 sitting
- Tue 10 November, results Wed 16 December 2026
How you are told
On results day you get a notification by midday, by the communication preference you chose in myGPhC, telling you to check your myGPhC account. The GPhC guidance for trainees says results are not issued by post, phone or email. Trainees in Northern Ireland are notified by the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.
What the result shows
- The pass mark for Part 1 and for Part 2 in your sitting.
- Your mark in Part 1 and your mark in Part 2.
- Your overall pass or fail outcome.
You need the pass mark or higher in both parts in the same sitting. See the pass mark page for how it is set and the recent figures. Each correct answer scores one mark and there is no negative marking.
The Board of Assessors can remove questions after a sitting, for example if guidance changed or a question was incorrect, and can accept more than one correct answer. When that happens the marks available fall and the pass mark for that part is adjusted.
The GPhC also withholds a result while an alleged misconduct case is investigated.
No re-marking
Marks go through quality assurance checks, and the GPhC states that it does not offer re-marking. Published results are final and individual marks are not reviewed again.
If you fail
Appeal
There are two grounds only: a procedural failure by the GPhC that directly affected your outcome, or exceptional circumstances that you could not have known about before or during the assessment. The deadline is given in the guidance you receive on results day. An upheld appeal nullifies the sitting attempt; otherwise the fail stands.
Resit
You can sit a maximum of three times within the time limit available to apply. If you have appealed and not heard the outcome by the application deadline, the regulations advise applying for the next sitting if you are eligible. Our resit guide covers pass rates by attempt and a rebuild plan.
Not having a functioning approved calculator, or a reasonable adjustment that was requested but not granted, are not grounds for appeal. See the approved calculators list before the next sitting.
Reading the Board of Assessors feedback
After each sitting the Board publishes feedback on what trainees answered less well. It is the best free guide to what to revise. The June 2025 and November 2025 documents show recurring Part 2 themes, which we have linked to practice pages:
- Law and supply: prescription validity, emergency supply conditions, safe disposal of medicines. Emergency supply practice.
- Cardiovascular: heart failure, stable angina, primary and secondary prevention with antiplatelet and lipid-modifying therapy. Cardiovascular practice.
- Skin conditions: recognising common conditions across diverse skin tones. Skin practice.
- Reproductive health: choosing a contraception method and managing interactions, plus menopause symptom options. Contraception practice.
- Diabetes: insulin preparations and time action profiles, adjusting doses from glucose trends. Insulin practice.
- Respiratory: inhaled therapy classes, treating acute and chronic asthma and stepping treatment up or down. Asthma and COPD practice.
- Part 1 calculations: rounding at the right stage, dose expressions, displacement values and IV infusion checks. Rounding practice.
The feedback also reports how the questions mapped to the framework: in the November 2025 sitting 67.8 per cent mapped to high weighted outcomes, 27.3 per cent to medium and 4.9 per cent to low. The Board says the framework is the basis for preparation.
Frequently asked questions
When are the GPhC exam results released?
The June 2026 sitting (16 June) had results on 21 July 2026. The November 2026 sitting (10 November) has results on 16 December 2026. You are notified by midday on results day to check your myGPhC account.
How do I find out my result?
Through your myGPhC account. The GPhC says it does not issue results by post, phone or email. Trainees in Northern Ireland are notified by the Pharmaceutical Society of Northern Ireland.
What does the result show?
The pass mark for Part 1 and Part 2, your mark for each part, and your overall pass or fail outcome.
Can I ask for my paper to be re-marked?
No. The GPhC says answers and marks are checked and it does not offer re-marking. Published results are final and individual marks are not reviewed again.
Can I appeal a fail?
Yes, on two grounds only: a procedural failure by the GPhC that directly affected your outcome, or exceptional circumstances you could not have known about before or during the assessment. Not having a working approved calculator, or a reasonable adjustment request that was not granted, are not grounds. Appeals must reach the GPhC by the deadline given on results day.
Can questions be removed after the exam?
Yes. The Board of Assessors can remove a question after the sitting, for example if guidance changed or the question was incorrect, and can accept more than one correct answer. If questions are removed the marks available fall and the pass mark for that part is adjusted.
Where is the feedback on how trainees performed?
After each sitting the Board of Assessors publishes feedback on topics trainees answered less well. The GPhC links it from its Sitting the Common Registration Assessment page.
